Apple also provides (for free) OS 7.5 install disks.ДЄs far as I understand, you'd have to un-compress all of those disks, load them up, install OS 7.5 into the emulator, then install Accordance. I don't have time right now (finals, work, impending marriage) but there are links to a startup disk. You need some kind of startup disk since the harddrive file you created is initially blank or uninitialized. That will get the emulator to start but not actually run anything. You need to create a file that will represent the mac's harddrive (which you can do through Basalisk II)

You need a ROM image of a particular model of macintosh.

It seems like Basalisk II is better suited for Mac OS 7. There are two that I know of, SheepSaver and Basalisk II. Since we don't have the physical hardware or are running on different hardware (like Linux or Windows) you need an emulator. Here is what I understand about the problem: I was able to run Basilisk II, create a new Mac harddrive and start the emulator but it did not recognize the disk. Note: A Mac ROM is a snapsot of some of the internal software on a mac and you are only legally suppose to use it if you own that version of a mac. * is a more in-depth tutorial and contains links to Mac OS ROMs. * has links to downloads so you don't have to compile from source (and also links to network drivers) * lists the official way to setup basilisk II I used a combination of pages to get things running: Basilisk II is no longer in the Ubuntu repositories (at least for the latest versions of Ubuntu) but there are pre-compiled binaries that you can get elsewhere.

I've got a MacBook Pro that's running Ubuntu under VirtualBox. Minivmac_ењ†4_backslash_is_control_mode.zip (127.We've been chatting about this on Twitter, but I think this is probably a more appropriate medium. GCC seems to give a working build, but it's super slow to start up. This is a bit annoying, but fortunately much less so than the slow sound in Basilisk II. The sound sometimes skips, especially if the emulator speed is high. It has 'control mode' remapped to Backslash.Д«y the way, there is still a slight issue with sound when playing Prince of Persia 2. I attached the ењ†4 build that worked for me earlier. (For Dev-C++, you may be able to get it to compile by passing -e dvc in the build system) Of course, you could tweak Mini vMac's build system options for your own preferences and build environment.

Maybe the procedure above will still work for others, though, if it's just my system.ДЄnyway, the above steps *should* get you a working set-up.

Maybe something got messed up in the last update to Windows, or Visual Studio. Even my previous build that used to work fine is now broken.

Reverting to the previous alpha snapshot, from 29 April 2018.ДЄctually, it seems like I can't compile ANY version that works anymore.

Also, the control mode remapping feature does not seem to work. I cannot get past the startup screen, after that the application hangs. Ouch, looks like this version has some serious issues. To make the emulator run faster I set the speed to either 32x or 'all out'. I am currently using a boot disk with System 7.5.3 installed. I chose one of the 256k Mac II ROMs (most will probably work). I downloaded all of the Old World ROMS from the Macintosh Repository: I started by downloading the latest compiled Mac II version of Mini vMac from this page: TodayвЂ™s Mini vMac Development source snapshot adds a new build system option вЂњ-km вЂќ, for changing the mapping between keys on the real Keyboard and keys on the emulated Keyboard, or the Mini vMac Control Mode.
